This dome
was one of the focal points of the room. It started its life as a fiberglass
dome with nothing on it. We were asked to come up and put in place a star
field and a shooting star in this dome.
To do this we contacted Acoustic
Innovations to figure out how to make this work. They supplied
us with the fiber optic lamps and strands and explained the procedure.
This procedure involved taking the dome down and taking
it back to the store and drilling lots of holes through the dome at random
intervals for the star-field and in a straight tight line for the shooting
star. Then we had to insert the fiber-optic strands and glue them into
place.
At one point it looked like the first nuclear bomb
experiment in our store. In the end it was well worth the effort as many
people loved the effect.
