Where is that image coming from???
What do you
do when the client says "How hard would it be to turn that room into a
Home Theater?"
The answer is that you say " Not Hard" and get real
creative, real fast.
This room was originally designed to have a Toshiba
65" wide screen television and Miller and Kreisel speakers all built into
a custom cabinet. In fact, the cabinet was built and installed but not
stained. We had to remove the cabinet (where the screen is now) and build
a custom wall to house three California Audio Technology speakers and
one subwoofer.
Over that, we then installed a large perforated screen
and a projector built into a "fur down" at the back of the room.
To do this we utilized a VX1C from Runco and a Stewart permanent mount
THX micro-perf screen.
We then had the interior designer put in padding on
all the walls (except the rear of the room) to deaden the room and install
heavy-duty drapes to cover the one-wall windows to the lake. The drapes
and material above and below the screen do a nice job of absorbing stray
light from the DLP projector and covering up the subwoofer. At the back
of the room is a full bar for those hot summer movie nights.
